HypnoBirthing childbirth education program can help you achieve a safer and gentler childbirth by blending trust in the female body with the documented effectiveness of self-hypnosis (deep relaxation), guided imagery, visualization, special breathing and tension-releasing techniques.
The HypnoBirthing childbirth method is as much a philosophy of birth as it is a technique for achieving a satisfying, relaxing, and stress-free birthing. Mothers-to-be will learn how to call upon their birthing body’s own natural relaxant (endorphins) to lessen or eliminate birthing discomfort, labor pain and the need for medication. When a pregnant woman is properly prepared for childbirth and her mind and body are in harmony, nature can be freed to function during labor and birthing in the same manner that it does with all other creatures.
HypnoBirthing childbirth classes teach expecting mothers to release all prior programming about birth and how to trust the birthing body and work with it, as well as how to eliminate harmful emotions that lead to pain-causing fear and unyielding muscles during labor and birth. HypnoBirthing teaches the art of using natural birthing instincts, and empowers women so they can create the birth they want.
HypnoBirthing mothers experience birthing in an atmosphere of calm and relaxation, without fear and tension that causes pain. Their body’s natural relaxant replaces the stress, hormones that cause labor pain. HypnoBirthing moms are aware of their laboring and birthing body and choose to surrender to the childbirth process. They are aware, in control, and profoundly relaxed.
In addition to learning self-hypnosis techniques to help achieve a more natural birthing, by taking HypnoBirthing program you will also learn:
RSIA Tambak serves hypnobirthing training every day:
Monday to Friday 10:00 to 14:00
Saturday at 10:00 to 18:00
RSIA Tambak also serves the facilitation of labor with hypnobirthing.
The Lactation Department within RSIA Tambak is a daily resource for breastfeeding mothers and babies within the hospital. All of the Lactation Consultants are nurses who are also certified by the national Board of Certified Lactation Consultants.
Although breastfeeding is natural, learning does not come easily for all new moms, and sometimes even experienced moms may struggle with a new issue. If you’re concerned about the amount of milk you’re producing, the baby’s weight or are having issues pumping, RSIA Tambak offers personal consultations with you and your baby. Some problems may be addressed over the phone, but other issues need a personal visit. RSIA Tambak invites you and your baby to come in to address your concerns with one of the certified lactation consultants. They will offer you individualized guidance, tips, and tools to make breastfeeding more comfortable for you and your baby.
Based on the nature of the consultation, there is a scale available to check a pre-feed and post-feed weight to make sure your baby is receiving an adequate supply of milk. When bringing your infant to the consultation, it would be best to have the consult at a time when the baby will be interested in feeding, but not overly hungry.
When purchasing a breast pump, please consider your needs for use. If you are going to be a full-time working mother, you will succeed best with a double electric pump. If you will be an at home mother with only an occasional need to pump, a single electric pump or even a manual pump may be adequate. There are many online resources that will provide you with a comparison of brands and uses.
2.5-hour class is for both moms and dads and focuses on the basics of breastfeeding your newborn. Preparation and education will help you feel more confident as you start this journey. The consultants will also discuss pumps, when to start pumping, milk storage, and returning to work. Classes are taught by Certified Lactation Consultants. Plan to attend this class prior to your delivery so you will feel more confident breastfeeding your baby right from the start.
Children Growth and Development Department
Understanding your child's changing and emerging growth and development is an important part of parenting. As infants and children progress through a series of growth stages, they may encounter physical and emotional challenges, and some relatively common problems during these years.
Growth and development includes not only the physical changes that will occur from infancy to adolescence, but also some of the changes in emotions, personality, behavior, thinking, and speech that children develop as they begin to understand and interact with the world around them.
Besides, the Children Growth and Development Department at RSIA Tambak evaluates, diagnoses and treats children with disorders of growth and puberty.
When you visit the Center, your child will be cared for by the multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurse clinicians, family therapists and nutritionists, who are nationally recognized experts in the area of growth.
The staffs are actively involved in the latest treatment approaches for children with growth disorders, including new research approaches, and they plan your child's treatment with the benefit of this knowledge.
Every mother wants to know she has the best medical care possible when bringing a new baby into the world. The expert physicians, nurses and health care professionals who staff the maternity centers at RSIA Tambak are available 24/7 to help you.
Weeks before your due date, you should talk to your obstetrician about whether you would like to use pain relief techniques or medications during childbirth.
Your obstetrician or midwife will monitor you and your baby throughout labor and delivery, and for six weeks after delivery. RSIA Tambak also has a board-certified obstetrician on site round the clock to help you in the hospital.
When you are ready to deliver your baby in the hospital, the anesthesiologist administers and monitors pain relief you may need during childbirth. Epidural anesthesia is commonly used to block the pain from contractions. An anesthesiologist is available on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week
A perinatologist is an obstetrician who has additional advanced training in high-risk pregnancies. Maternal-fetal medicine specialists provide comprehensive care and consultation for women with high-risk pregnancies. They also can provide genetic counseling, ultrasounds, and prenatal diagnosis.
A certified nurse midwife provides full maternity services, including prenatal, birth and postpartum care, to low-risk patients. Your Certified Nurse Midwife will monitor you and your baby throughout your pregnancy. The Certified Nurse Midwife works with an obstetrician who is available if needed during your pregnancy or hospital stay.
Your labor and delivery nurse will support and encourage you throughout the birthing process. The nurses are highly trained, with more than 50 percent achieving national certification in their specialty. They also hold certification in neonatal resuscitation and basic life support to provide high-risk and emergency care for both you and your baby.
Your baby will be evaluated at birth and seen usually once a day by a pediatrician while you are in the hospital. The pediatrician or nurse practitioner will stop by your room and explain your baby's progress. Be sure to ask any questions you may have at this time.
A neonatologist is a pediatrician with advanced training in treating premature or sick infants. If your obstetrician feels it is necessary, a neonatologist may be present at your baby's delivery. The neonatologist works mainly in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units.
The perinatal clinical nurse specialist is an advanced practice nurse responsible for in-service education, new staff orientation, updating protocols, implementing changes in practice, and translating research into practice. The nurse specialist may also work with high-risk patients or new parents with special needs.
Doulas are women who have received special training to provide physical and emotional support to women in labor. The doula remains by the woman’s side throughout the birth process. If needed, a postpartum doula can assist the mother during her hospital stay, providing breastfeeding support and guidance on caring for her newborn.
Social Worker or Care Manager
The social worker can assist you and your family with pregnancy-related problems, financial resources, referrals, and FamilyCare, plus home care services, equipment, and insurance coverage for special needs.
